Nova Scotia’s Benjamin
Bridge winery debuts
new products, expands
tasting room
By Shelley Boettcher
It’s not unusual for a Benjamin Bridge
visitor to spend hours at this small,
family-owned winery. They try a flight
of wines – some of the famous bubbles,
perhaps – and they settle in at one of the
picnic tables outside overlooking the vine-yards.
If it’s rainy, they can sit along the
wraparound patio, still enjoying the wines
that have made this Nova Scotia winery
famous around the world. Maybe they ask
lots of questions about what’s in their glass.
Maybe they don’t.
Either way, that’s OK, says Gillian
Mainguy, who heads up sales for the winery.
“We’re not a splash and dash kind of
place,” Mainguy said. “Benjamin Bridge is a
hidden gem, a spot to just take a moment
and get away from the rest of the world for a
while. We’re here for people to relax.”
