In Canada, there are number of different
ways to learn about the craft distillery
business. James Lester and Richard
Klaus, a couple of young B.C. entrepreneurs
who founded their own artisan distillery
called Sons of Vancouver four years ago,
are passing on their knowledge through a
unique model called The Distillery School.
The school is run out of Sons of
Vancouver and offers a five-day course
combining hands-on experience working
with distillers, with intense instruction
on all the essential aspects of setting up
your own craft distillery – everything from

As craft spirits continue to gain popularity in Canada,
there are more and more people vying to get into
the artisan distillery business. The Distilling School
operated out of the Sons of Vancouver craft distillery
in B.C. not only offers distilling training but also
provides prospective distillers with what they need to
know to operate a successful business.
