machine that can do all that, so it’s very
versatile,” he said.
Merlo says another important aspect
of the Multi-Container Packaging Centre is
that it can deliver a better-quality fill that
produces a better-tasting beverage with a
longer shelf life.
“Existing entry level systems are often-times
not as good on product fill,” Merlo
said. “Our machine is a scaled-down ver-sion
of a high-speed filler, not a scaled-up
version of an entry-level filler.”
According to Merlo, the Multi-
Container Packaging Centre is a full
pre-evacuation (single, double or tri-ple
dependent on oxygen sensitivity),
counter-pressure fill that delivers fill qual-ity
in line with large, expensive, highly
automated equipment. “That’s huge,”
he said.
Smaller footprint
Merlo says the machine was also built to
run at higher speeds than existing in line
options. He adds that because it’s designed
to take the place of multiple dedicat-ed
packaging lines, it also has a much
smaller footprint.
“Many smaller- and medium-sized
producers are tapped for space,” said
Merlo. “With a single footprint, you’re tak-ing
up less space. One machine is doing
all your SKUs.”
Farran says that’s another important
reason he’s purchasing the Multi-Container
Packaging Centre for his distillery. “Its
efficiency of design means that we can fit it
in a very compact space.”
Another unique feature of the Multi-
Container Packaging Centre is that
no container-handling parts need to be
swapped when switching from bottles and
cans or vice-versa.
